GRRRRR....deep breath....smile!

Some of you may have seen my youtube vlog about...well...THIS blog. When I filmed it, I had been playing with some of my MAC pigments (I am constantly "phasing" between wearing MAC shadows and pigments). It had been a while, and I really liked the result. Painterly Paint Pot all over the lids, Tea Time in the crease and Vanilla as a highlight under the brow bone, and finished with some black liquid liner along the top lash line (plus a quick swipe of lipstick).

So I decided that that was going to be my next tutorial. I filmed it, edited it, and uploaded it. FAIL. Converted it to a different format, and uploaded it again. FAIL. Those of you who have been following me for a while will know that my relationship with technology is somewhat delicate. At the moment my computer and I are barely on speaking terms. I don't know whether to re-film it, re-edit it, and attempt to re-upload it (not doing anything differently, because I don't actually know what I did wrong..)

So I don't know what will happen. I am (deep breath) trying to upload it one last time (slowly exhale). I'm not actually expecting it to work..

..So here are a few photos showing you the colours I used in this tutorial (slightly different from what I was wearing in my vlog)

From top to bottom, the colours (all MAC pigments) are:

Tan
Tea Time
Silver Fog
Vanilla

I would never have thought of using Silver Fog with these other fairly neutral colours, but I loved the way it turned out - just a little extra dazzle/sparkle that I sometimes LOVE.

I have to say, Vanilla is one of my favourite beauty products EVER, and I'm not alone in that opinion - it is one of my top-selling pigment samples. It is just so versatile! Add it over the lids once you've basically finished your eyes, and you get a sheer pearly effect, or (my fave) use it as a highlight just under your brows. I could go on but I won't bore you.

I won't bore you, EXCEPT to tell you again how much I love this lipstick, Snob. As you may know, I usually shy away from bright lips - no one wants to look trashy or like they are trying to hard, but this colour is just so PRETTY! and girly! It makes me feel like a grown-up, brunette version of Barbie (haha in a good way!)

I would DEFINITELY recommend trying it - it's a mid pink, that is...well you can see for yourself.

OK well the bad (but nevertheless predictable) news is that my upload FAILed. I'm not going to re-do it at the stage..so many other colours to play with! So I'll try another tutorial and cross my fingers and toes that it works. But for now, here is a picture of what you missed. I hate taking pictures of myself - don't wanna be THAT girl, but I have to show you what it looks like somehow..

I'm off to try round two..wish me luck!!

XOXO

Why I started this blog...

Okay.

Most of you will know me from youtube as BabyMac004 (my name is Philippa by the way). With a baby (well toddler *sniff*) to take care of, as well as a (fledgling) business to run (more on that in another post), I can only film, edit and upload videos when there is a window of opportunity...and those windows are pretty rare! so doing it this way is much easier...

...don't worry! I will still catch those pesky windows when they appear! One of my new years resolutions was to upload more often (but now I'm getting off topic - I'll do a whole other post on my resolutions).

ANYWAY!

I plan on sharing with you guys my favourite looks, whether it's makeup, hair, or fashion. I am SO passionate about COLOURS! I think that's what draws me to makeup - coz I'm really not your typical "makeup" girly girl. I like to drink with the boys. I like to run around like a lunatic and get dirty. I like reading, painting, playing the piano, singing, dancing (ok this is kinda girly) like crazy with my favourite girls out on the town. But...yeah...don't know where I was going with that.

I'm sitting here thinking about what my first ACTUAL BabyMacBeauty blog is going to be on, and I think I'm going to share with you guys my favourite products, maybe a few swatches etc..maybe even and OOTD? Let me know what you think..

Right. My window is rappidly closing (that is, my son is yelling "Mama! Nana! (banana) Yumyumyum!"

XOXO
